DIVERSA is a biotechnology spin-off from the Santiago de Compostela Health Research Institute and the Galician Health Service.
Working with pharma and biotech companies, DIVERSA identified a common need for delivery solutions in drug development. Overcoming biological barriers is a crucial step to produce efficient pharmaceutical products. DIVERSAs formulations make this happen.
The technology
DIVERSA's proprietary technology is based on lipidic emulsions with an easily controllable size and a narrow distribution. These nanometric emulsions show great stability in different relevant biological fluids and biocompatibility with different cell types as well as in vivo models such as mouse, rat and zebrafish. They have a high loading capacity and are versatile and capable of associating a wide variety of compounds as hydrophobic or amphiphilic small molecules, peptides, proteins, and oligonucleotides (such as DNA and RNA) and deliver them to their target site by overcoming biological barriers.
