Brief Introduction of MPXV Protein

Monkeypox Virus (MPXV) A35 Protein:
MPXV A35R protein is a homolog of Vaccinia virus A33R protein.
A33R protein plays a vital role in efficient cell-to-cell spread of viral particles. It is a potential target for diagnostic tests, vaccine/drug development.

Monkeypox Virus (MPXV) A29 Protein:
The structure and function of monkeypox virus A29 protein is less studied, but it is a homolog of Vaccinia virus A27 protein.
Multiple functions of A27 protein: 1) Bind heparin on the cell surface to mediate cell fusion; 2) Required for IMV trafficking on microtubules and IEV formation; 3) Anchor for packaging A26 protein into mature viral particles; 4) Key target for neutralizing antibody.

Monkeypox Virus (MPXV) H3L Protein:
MPXV H3L protein is a homolog of Vaccinia virus H3L protein.
H3L protein is envelope protein that binds to heparan sulfate on the cell surface.It might provide virion attachment to host cell. It is a potential target for vaccine or drug development.

Monkeypox Virus (MPXV) I1L Protein:
MPXV I1L protein is Expressed in the late phase of the viral replicative cycle. It is a DNA-binding protein which binds to the hairpin form of the viral telomeric sequence.

Monkeypox Virus (MPXV) L1R Protein:
MPXV L1R protein is a homolog of Vaccinia virus J1R protein. J1R protein plays a vital role in virus growth, plaque formation, and virion morphogenesis.
